Day 2: Psalm 139

Read Psalm 139

When was the last time you considered the humbling reality that you are a created being; that you can’t really take any of the credit for when, how, and why you were created? You and I can try (and boy, do we try) to make something of the days we’re given here on earth, but we can’t get away from the fact that we have a creator who placed us where he placed us (in a unique time and space) according to His own purposes.

Spend time with the One that created you today. The temptation as we live our lives is to believe that we got to where we are in life because of our talents, our efforts, our education, and our experiences. But Scripture reminds us that God was in control of your life before you (or anyone else) had any say over it. This truth should humble us and move us to give credit where credit is due. Spend some time praying and thanking God for all the experiences and people that have helped you become who you are—because after all, it was God who has been forming and knitting your life together all along.
