Read Isaiah 41:1-20

There are two truths that should calm your fears today: (1) that God is sovereign and in control of everything that exists, and (2) that God is near to you and full of grace. If God were sovereign but not gracious, you’d do well to trust His power but probably not love Him. If God were gracious but not sovereign, you’d do well to love Him but probably not trust Him. But the fact that He is both sovereign and gracious means you can trust and love Him knowing that He is working all things for your good (Rom. 8:28).

God is a sovereign savior who has a proven track record of saving, redeeming, and transforming His people so that they’d have life and life abundantly. Scripture is full of examples of God providing for His people in places where His plan leads them. Look at the stories of Israel wandering in the wilderness, and how God provided daily bread and water in places and in situations where the people had no hope. These stories aren’t just for the past, but they’re stories that should build our faith today.

If God rules over everything, and His grace promises to give you everything you need to live inside His will, then what do you need to fear today? Don’t give way to fear today—if God is for you, who can be against you?
