Read: Romans 13:1-7

Pray: You and I exist under authority, and we can either acknowledge that our sovereign God meant it this way, or we can try to set ourselves up as our own authorities. Though earthly authorities may be imperfect (and at times corrupt), God still calls His people to submit and to pray for them. Perhaps in praying for leaders and those in authority that we disagree with, we have a unique opportunity to trust in the ultimate authority of God that will work all things for our good. Submit your leaders to God for prayer (e.g., bosses, city officials, law enforcement, president, etc.). Pray that God would achieve His purposes and protect His people through these leaders.
