Week 2 Theme: Prayers for the Church

Read: Matt. 5:13-16

Reflect: The church is supposed to be a countercultural and peculiar people in this world. It’s no secret that Jesus stood out when he lived on this earth, and the Church should reflect his example. Yet, standing out is easy—it matters much more that we stand out for because we accurately reflect the character of our “Father who is in heaven.” (v. 16) What does saltiness and light look like for our church here in San Francisco? How are you involved in helping our church live out this calling of being salt and light in this world? Spend time thinking about these questions and praying for greater wisdom and a greater commitment to this calling.
