TEACHING THE BIBLE
God’s Big Story is a new podcast for kids from The Village Church.
Video resources from GLMC in Southern California: These videos are great lessons to use with your kids on Sunday morning, or anytime during the week.
Here are the instructions for parents to use these videos at home, with comprehension questions and extra activity ideas.
Moses and Pharoah: For younger kids, geared for those 4 years and under (though it kept my 5 year old's attention as well)
Parable of the Lost Sheep: For older kids, ages 5 and up
ministry-to-children.com is always 100% free, and a great resource. You can search the site by topic, age or activity.
The Jesus Storybook Bible is available as an e-book from the San Francisco Public Library with a library card! Also, if you visit the author’s website you can sign up for her newsletter and receive a free Jesus Storybook Lent Guide.
Ellie Holcomb's album, “Sing: Creation Songs” teaches children that God is our Creator, Protector, and Shelter, while reassuring them of His great love for them throughout the lyrics.
This article from Crossway.org lists books, podcasts, and articles to encourage Christian adults during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it also includes a link for Printable Bible Verse Cards. Print and post them around the house to encourage you and your children!
VIDEO MESSAGES FROM OUR REDEMPTION KIDS TEACHERS
We know how hard this time of isolation is for our kids, and many of us at Redemption Kids are missing their faces as well, so I’ve asked our Redemption Kids volunteers to consider making videos to share as they are able. This section will continue to be updated, so keep checking back!
EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
Play To Learn Preschool is a Facebook account parents of preschool or Kindergarten aged children can access for daily preschool circle time videos (about 30 minutes each). The teacher creates a theme for the lesson and includes links to free printable activities!
No Time For Flashcards is a great resource for educational activities and is browsable by age, with ideas for kids aged toddler through Elementary. She recently posted an article, “27 Kid Activities That Use Everyday Supplies,” to help parents who will be looking for ways to keep children busy at home over the coming weeks!

Cosmic Kids Yoga is fun for kids of any age, and you can search by theme to find the yoga that inspires your kids the most.
Black Bird Books is a local book store in the Outer Sunset that has put together a variety of boxes for kids filled with 3 to 5 books and items (you can choose the age range you need) that they can deliver in SF for free. Do some shopping and support a local small business!
Remember, there are tons of ebooks and videos accessible with a San Francisco Public Library card! They have expanded the daily borrowing limits to account for the libraries being closed during the Shelter in Place order.
GetEpic! is yet another resource for online books with read-aloud capabilities. This is a digital library for kids 12 and under that can be set up for free by your child’s school teacher.
