Week 3 Theme: Prayers for Our City

Read: 1Tim. 2:1-4; 1Pet. 2:13-17

Reflect: We live in a time where those in authority are more often questioned and criticized than they are supported. Though our city leaders and elected officials aren’t perfect and will at times make decisions that we don’t agree with, can we be obedient and submissive to God who calls us to pray for and submit to imperfect leaders? Can we trust in God—the One in ultimate authority who bestows authority to people—and live out that trust in Him by praying for our leaders (even those we don’t agree with)? Spend some time praying for our city’s leaders and those whose decisions affect the lives of many.
